Parlour Props
Casting in fibreglass was one of the most ready means to convert an idea on paper into something solid on a wall. Attaching neon to a modelled plate allowed for an electro-coloured contrast forging depth through shadow.
Fleshing-out images of the street by setting them to illumination in enclosed spaces were steps towards mining the surface for signs. Fabrication of bronze-box icons, tested for complementary oppositions or agreement between appearance, feeling, and set meaning of standards.
Piecing the thing together: Cut and paste templates survey an otherwise impenetrable picture plane.
